Have you ever tried to cook something new and thought “ Can I make this or who do I know made this already”? Sometimes Memories begin to form about that particular meal. Cooking is a work of art when it’s finished and the presentations are beautiful, followed by smell and taste. Perhaps cooking is not your thing but you do it so you can eat. It is the discovery that “ I can cook or I would not even give this to my pet rock if you had one. What comes to mind when you think of cooking?
Does this bring back memories of cooking for or with your parents, grandparents, family, or friends at home where it meant something different to everyone? The talks you had while getting the food prepared or doing the shopping for groceries or the ride to the store. For some of those it was silent trips and work. At the end of the day, it was the meal bringing you together outside of holidays knowing it was worth the messing kitchen.
It's said cooking for some cooks is a form of therapy. Cooking can create some of their best dishes or worst meals. The craft of cooking from beginner-friendly meals to five-course meal bring satisfaction once complete. Whether you conquered making eggs with grits or grilled salmon and shrimp over yellow rice, just the fact you accomplished making one meal needs to be celebrated.
Cooking is one way to bring people together whether at a bbq, wedding, dinner, date night, or lunch to name a few. Your plate can be as colorful or simple as you want it to be. From the designs to the smell to the garnishment you are ready to dig. If you are the cook you may wonder” Does the meal have enough flavor?” for a new recipe was used this time around.

Going out to eat can stir up conversations of memories especially with family and long-time friends. For example, you can order spaghetti, pasta, veggie, soup, a specific drink, or dish, etc. The beginning words are,” Hey, do you remember when…”. Now this can spark positive or negative reactions in people. Not everyone sees those memories as good, yet may connect another way.
Cooking can feed the body and mind as you branch out. Sometimes the smallest things can take you back as you cook. The memories you have are priceless.
